Tara’s diary on November 18 – This is my #121 Nov 18

I woke up at 7:30 am. After my basic toilet and grooming necessities, I went down to the hotel’s in-house breakfast at 8 am.

I left my hotel to walk to rue Almageste.

I stopped by Philip Maurel’s shop at #31. He wasn’t around. I met his new shop assistant, Marie.

I decided to leave to browse some antiquarian bookshops. I found two good books and they were priced for a steal so I bought them. They were:

1. The Heavenly Bodies by Thornton
2. Histoire des Eaux Potables

Time flies when you’re walking around searching for good buys for your business, and having fun. It was soon 5 pm, and I returned to Maurel Numismatique. Philip was in. He was pleased to see me and insisted I stay for dinner. He went out again to buy some ready-to-serve cooked food & wine for our party of three.

It was cold inside the shop and we brought out Philip’s old gas heater.

After dinner, the area where we were seated was warm. I tried to push away the heater but it was hot and burned my hand.

Philip fetched a bowl of water from the kitchen, for me to dip my hand in, to cool my burn.

We chatted for a while and then I returned to my hotel by 11 pm.

I called Thomas at our home. I told him everything that happened during their day. After I hung up, I went down to the hotel lobby to fetch a small bag of ice cubes. I went to sleep with the ice cubes resting on my burn.
