
You could become a cockroach too, if you experienced a meltdown like Gregor Samsa, in Metamorphosis.
Gregor Samsa was a hardworking salesman who always woke up at 4 am to rush out to the train station to catch the 5 am ride. The office boy also took this train and served as a spy to report on Gregor is he wasn’t on the platform early enough.
Gregor’s existence was troubled and his reality entered his sleep to disturb him with worrying dreams. He had so stressed at his high pressure job. He worked like a robot. His conditions were inhuman and that could be why he woke up thinking he became a cockroach.
Gregor thought he became a cockroach. His body and limbs did not move according to his brain’s orders. He experienced a meltdown. His parents and sister all realized the severity of his situation as he failed to catch the 5 am train. Then the Chief Clerk arrived at their house, to enquire after Gregor.
