I didn’t watch the first The Devil Wears Prada when it made cinema gold 20 years ago in 2006.
Review of theater / cinema hall
The seats are comfortable. The arm rest has a mini table which can be used to place our small boxes of food.
Review of food sold for movie ticket holders
I bought chicken nuggets and a small box of sweet flavored pop corn. Both items are good.
Audio & visual equipment inside theater
They are okay, but not exceptional.
Observation of character Jin Chao’s performance
Jin Chao is Andy Sachs’ assistant. In the introduction scene, Jin Chao is made to recite her academic qualifications. She jumped to her own conclusion that she was being rejected by Andy.
Andy defends herself by denying that she is rejecting Jin Chao. Andy makes the right choice as Jin Chao proves to be a team member. She was quick on her feet. She thought of a way to record Miranda’s conversation with the new owner of their magazine and his new administration.
There is no bias against Chinese people or actress.
Jin Chao’s first scene had her dressed in ill co-ordination blouse and bottoms. No one wears checked top and checked bottoms. This fashion blunder was not repeated in subsequents scenes. Jin Chao is not a cartoon character.
Jin Chao is played by Helen J Shen.

Would I recommend watching “The Devil Wears Prada 2”?

What are the literary devices used in The Devil Wears Prada 2?
Trope 1 – Andy’s magazine shuts down and she is rescued with a new job offer.
Trope 2 – Andy’s new editor is a very tough old woman, Miranda Priestly.
Trope 3 – Andy meets her former colleague Emily.
Trope 4 – Andy nets a very rare interview with a celebrity. She captures that winning grace from her editor.
Trope 5 – Emily has a rich patron who supports her business and gifts her very expensive presents.
Trope 6 – Miranda lost her promised new position when the elderly owner of the magazine collapses and dies at his own birthday party. She is also losing her editor job as the new owner takes over.
Trope 7 – Andy, the faithful subordinate, plans to save Miranda’s job, and the magazine.
Trope 8 – Andy is double crossed by her bext friend Emily, who betrays her by getting her rich patron to buy the magazine.
Trope 9 – Andy makes a big gamble by asking a reclusive celebrity to buy the magazine.
Trope 10 – Emily receives her just desserts as her patron ditches her.
Trope 11 – Andy is the ever forgiving friend who takes Emily back to her bosom.
Trope 12 – Andy finally gains approval in Miranda’s eyes.
Clothes & wardrobe in The Devil Wears Prada 2
Andy wears elegant, long dresses. She portrays the image of a serious journalist working her butt off. Clothes look nice.
Emily wears a little more elegant wardrobe to express her standing as the business woman owner of a fashion brand.
Miranda wears formal suits. Her short hair is always well styled.
Scenes
I didn’t like to see Andy brushing her teeth while rushing to get ready to go to work. That was not nice to watch.
Plot of movie in relation to this present world
I’ve seen a magazine becoming trashy, containing nothing but ads for women, with products literally ranging from A to Z.
I’ve leafed through a Christian community magazine with no genuine articles but advertorials. Apparently, the trend is to use an agency to stuff the pages with standard, prepared “articles”, which can be recycled for issues.
Magazines were a thing.
Magazines are losing their clout.
I agree with the plot’s message that hardcopy magazines are losing buyers.
The Pros & Cons of the plot
The pros are the the sub-plots on Andy, being the angelic journalist. The cons are the plot and subplots used common tropes. Everyone is saved. Everybody lives happily ever after.
