Atwood’s sister-in-law’s pet died.

Margaret Atwood’s sister-in-law is Lenore Mendelson Atwood.

She was a ceramic artist who kept a pet hermit crab. Its small aquarium was placed on top of a TV set which heated up and the crab was steamed.
