Mother Fevronia dreams of Fra Armando lying on top of Monsieur Monsu, with his body and limbs in corresponding position to the dead man’s. (Cartarescu, p. 202 – 203) Fra Armando was giving mouth to mouth resuscitation to Monsieur Monsu.
Fra Armando later told the nuns,
“He will live, ” he said to himself, in a quiet voice, “I gave him another ten yeras.” Then he continued, more slowly: “How many I lost, God only knows.”
Cartarescu, p. 203)
