Meditation & reflection on Genesis 1: 26 – 27
I started on this Bible late, on Wednesday. The first reflection for meditation was based on Genesis 1: 26 – 27. (p. 23) Humans were created in the likeness of God. That is why in created pictures, God is depicted as a human man. The reader is asked to write a personal affirmation that they are loved by God, and must accept oneself as we are whole and loved by God. Readers are urged to read this self-affirmation for about one week, to allow the message to be absorbed into our mind, body, and spirit.
I used to hate my face and body. My nose was not sharp. In my youth, my body was pear shaped. I didn’t love myself and couldn’t understand the why and how a greater entity could be concerned about me.
As I grew older, I lost weight naturally. My nose became defined. Due to economic circumstances, I lost weight. After surviving challenges, I understood how much God loved me.
I have my copy, printed in 2018. I’m not a youth but I’m using this Bible for meditation and reflection as it has questions for self-examination.
