Who is Lenore Mendelson? What is Lenore’s tits ceramics?
Lenore Mendelson is Margaret Atwood’s sister-in-law. Atwood wrote about her in her Book Of Lives: A Memoir Of Sorts. She is a ceramics artist, who started out by making open pots and shaped jars with lids. (Atwood, p. 140) The lids looked like tits. Peggy met a man who told her that he loved Lenore’s tits; meaning her ceramic lids,
Infographics on similar ceramics that could have been made by L Mendelson – the lid looks like tits ceramics.

The above is a sample and not the actual ceramic made by Lenore.
Lenore signed her artist name as M. Atwood. She explained to Margaret that the M stood for Mrs, but Peggy didn’t sound convinced.
Lenore later changed to making ceramic elephants. The examples below are not the ones made by Lenore. Those elephants are for illustration.

There’s a surprise picture coming soon. It is interesting to me and one of the reasons why I’m so happy I bought M Atwood’s Memoir to read about her life and the lives of those around her. To me, it is a one of a kind picture.
Atwood wrote that Lenore was once commissioned to make ceramics of two elephants.
This is what I imagine as the 2 elephants. One is a surgeon elephant doing an operation on his sleeping patient elephant.

There might be a third picture with an additional accessory. When it is ready, I’ll post it here.

Harold Atwood and Lenore Mendelson had three children. One became a physicist, one was a materials engineer and another was a lawyer specializing in marine law.
