Carl Atwood fell for Margaret Killam
When Carl Atwood first saw Margaret Killam sliding down the main bannister of Truro normal school, he felt he had found his wife. (Atwood, p. 8) By the way, for those who are unaware, the author Margaret’s parents named her after her mother and grandmother.
He knew his job, career and life would take him into the woods and he was looking for a woman who was sporty and could handle the outdoor life.
