In Margaret Atwood’s memoir Book Of Lives, she details her life, as well as of those lives surrounding hers. Lives of her grandparents, parents, siblings, relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Atwood’s dad, Carl Atwood was an entomologist. He specialized in insects and lived right next to nature for convenience. When the author was young, she met a wide variety of insects, amphibians, fish, birds and animals.
