Geoffrey was Gifty’s friend and when he heard her saying she was a princess, he told her that “Black people can’t be princesses.”

Geoffrey was old fashioned. He was ignorant of facts.

1. Princess Angela of Liechtenstein. She married Prince Maximilian of Liechtenstein.

2. Princess Keisha Omilana of Nigeria. She is an American who married Prince Adekunle Adebayo Omilana of the Yoruba people in Nigeria.

3. Ariana Austin Makonnen of the Ethiopian imperial family.

4. Princess Sikhanyiso Dlamini of Swaziland. She is the daughter of King Mswati III.

The below list is of black, Royal women.

1. Countess Mary Von Habsburg of Austria. She is a Sudanese woman who married Count Ferdinand von Habsburg.

2. Baroness Cécile de Massy of Monaco. She was born in Guadeloupe and she married Baron Christian Louis de Massy.

Gifty and Geoffrey are characters in Transcendent Kingdom, a book authored by Yaa Gyasi.
